Treatment through radioactive iodine.
It can be recommended in case of :
-Basedow’s disease
-As a complementary treatment to the surgery in case of cancer in order to eliminate thyroid cancer cells (metastasis) at a distance, since they pick up the iodine wherever they are in the body.
Not recommended in case of :
-Autonomous nodule
-Hypothyroidism
-“Cold” nodules (benign)
