SYMPTOMS

Varicose veins can be asymptomatic

They can also cause

– a cosmetic annoyance : unsightly venous dilation., dark spots, multiple bursts of venules. (telangiectasia)

– The "Heavy leg syndrome" affects 64% of varicose prone patients.

- pain, feelings of heaviness, cramps of the legs, 

- felt when standing still for a long time

- appeased when lying down.

All of these symptoms are generally worsen by heat, standing and sitting.

Edema :  swelling of the ankles and calves not present in the morning but increasing along the day.

complications : 

- hemorrhaging

- varicose eczema : itching

- brown skin spot

- superficial thrombosis

- deep vein thrombosis 

- pulmonary embolism

- varicose ulcer, long to heal and relapsing as long as varicose veins are left untreated
